It was discovered that during the funeral the body of Philip Bradburn was cremated instead of the politicians body. Mr. Bradburn had no immediate family and his funeral was being planned by social services. Dr Andrew Catto, from the Heart of England Foundation Trust, which runs the Good Hope Hospital commented on the error. He said "We are very sorry that this has happened - we are carrying out a full and urgent investigation between all the parties involved."
The politician's funeral was being planned by his long-serving chief of staff, Alastair Little. Little, who was made Bradbourn's next of kin said "We entrusted Philip's body to the NHS, but we've been let down by them." Speaking on behalf of the Bradbourn family he said they felt a "sense of anger and disbelief."
