The body of another man was cremated during the funeral of British politician Philip Bradbourn, it has been revealed. Bradbourn, who was the MEP for the West Midlands until his death, died at the Good Hope Hospital in Sutton Coldfield in December 2014 after suffering from bowel cancer. His funeral was held on January 16th, 2015 in Wolverhampton.
It was discovered that during the funeral the body of Philip Bradburn was cremated instead of the politicians body. Mr. Bradburn had no immediate family and his funeral was being planned by social services. Dr Andrew Catto, from the Heart of England Foundation Trust, which runs the Good Hope Hospital commented on the error. He said "We are very sorry that this has happened - we are carrying out a full and urgent investigation between all the parties involved."
